Chinese Benevolent Association
Heritage Chinatown Canada Day Celebration, July 1, 2019
LOCATION CHANGE TO THE EDMONTON CHINATOWN MULTI-CULTURAL CENTRE
(9540 102 Ave)
This free, family-friendly day of outdoor activities includes lion dances, martial arts, and
live music on the main stage. The night market will feature traditional Chinese-Canadian
games and crafts, merchandise, and along with free birthday cake at 5:00 p.m. in the heart of Chinatown.
Over 100 performers, artists, and street vendors will fill 96th Street to
showcase the best of Edmonton’s Chinese community on Canada Day.
“Edmonton’s Chinese-Canadian community welcomes all Albertans to mark Canada’s
152nd birthday, and to learn more about our contributions to our city and country,” says
Dr. Michael Lee, CBA Chair. “Guests will get to explore vendors’ stalls for crafts and
trinkets, enjoy the spectacle and colour of cultural performances by community groups,
and purchase BBQ hamburgers.”
